Mass-RI Veterinary ER is open 8 am–10 pm every day for emergency and urgent care.

If you’ll be bringing your pet in, please call us when you’re on your way so we can prepare for your arrival and answer any questions. If you’ll need help bringing your pet inside, let us know and our staff can assist you.

Once You’ve Arrived

Your pet will be examined by a triage technician who will check their vital signs, such as heart rate and temperature, and review their symptoms with you. As an ER, our patients are seen in order of urgency, not arrival – this means that pets in the most severe need of help will be seen first. Pets who are in stable condition (not in immediate danger) may be asked to wait with you until a doctor is available.

A veterinarian will perform a full physical exam of your pet and speak with you to work out a plan for diagnostic and treatment options, including an estimate of costs.

After Your Visit

Your primary care veterinarian will be notified that your pet visited our ER, and we’ll provide them with treatment and follow-up information to continue your pet’s care once you leave our hospital.

Overnight Stays

Some patients may require inpatient care, meaning they need to be kept in our hospital for ongoing diagnostics, monitoring, and treatments.rnrn
